We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to express themselves. Spiiker was born from the understanding that, sadly, this isn’t always the case — and that needs to change. Communication is a human right. But access to modern communication tools — known as AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) — is often slow, bureaucratic, and expensive.

The idea to create something better began in 2020, when our co-founder, Elery, started working as an occupational therapist. Over the years, she has supported hundreds of people with a wide range of needs — including speech impairments, autism, traumatic brain injury, dementia, and rare conditions like Down syndrome and Rett syndrome. All of these individuals had something to say — often something simple — but too often, they didn’t have the right tools to say it.

That experience moved us to act. We believe communication shouldn’t depend on your budget, a public health decision, or a pile of paperwork.
